Blessed Balsamic Moon! A magickal time!

Happy & Blessed Balsamic Moon to all. (September 12-14) This is the Wishing Moon and a great time to put wishes out there in the air. It is also called and known as the Witches Moon - a time to bring to mind those who need healing. Feelings invoke healing - meaning the deeper we feel, the deeper we heal.... This 'Wishing Moon' with Venus trine Uranus is an opportunity to invoke true love, world peace and creative prosperity. The deeper we feel, the more Moon magic we invoke for the new lunar cycle. This Balsamic Moon is most powerful as it comes before the 7th New Moon of the zodiacal year (when the world is created anew). Shadows before the New Moon can be cleared through deep breathing with paying close attention to the light of the crown. This is the time to invoke the new creation.

Blessed Beltane to All!

Blessed Beltane to All!

What exactly is Beltane? Beltane is one of eight Solar sabbats and is celebrated on May 1, or Mayday, with many of the festivities taking place the night before on May Eve. Beltane follows Imbolc and Ostara as the last of the spring fertility festivals. As Samhain is about honoring 'Death,' Beltane is about honoring 'Life.' It is the time when the sun is fully released from his bondage of winter and able to rule over summer and life once again. In modern Wicca, traditions from both the Gaelic Bealtaine and the Germanic May Day festival, like bonfires and the Maypole, are incorporated, and primarily focus on fertility.

The name Beltane means 'fire of Bel'. Belinos was one name for the Sun God, whose coronation feast is part of Beltane celebration. In old Celtic traditions, Beltane was a time of unabashed sexuality and promiscuity where couples could be unwed for one night and share with any willing partner. This was called going 'a-maying'. Children born from Beltane unions were thought to be especially blessed. Other celebrations often included maypole dancing, jumping over fires to ensure fertility, circling the fire three times (sun-wise) for good luck in the coming year just to name a few. Gatherings with friends/family/townspeople would include feasting, music, drinking, and gathering flowers. Animals such as cattle and sheep were run between the fires of Beltane to insure their fertility in the coming year. Flowers were an extremely important symbol of Beltane, as they signaled the victory of summer over winter and the blossoming of nature and the bounty it will bring.

Modern popular celebrations of Beltane still do include the maypole, plus such grain foods as oatmeal, bread and cakes are typically included in the feast, as well as fresh greens, edible flowers, and spring fruits accompany them. If you aren't planning a formal Beltane feast, try taking a walk in the woods, any wooded area or even your local park to celebrate the Sun God. Pick wildflowers or boughs with blossoms to use on your altar. They can also be made into flower wreaths and garlands, which are typical decorations for this holiday, especially when tied with ribbons and streamers. Planting seeds in a garden or flower pot is a lovely activity for Beltane, especially herbs that may be used in later rituals. May morning is traditionally a magical time for collecting wild water from dew, flowing streams, and springs, which is stored and used in future spells and rituals, especially those for beauty and love.

Colors used on the altar at Beltane are red and white (for the God and Goddess), green, yellow, pink and blue. Symbols include the Maypole, baskets, strings of beads, ribbons and flowers. Herbs include cinquefoil (five finger grass), honeysuckle, St. John's wort, rose, rosemary, and lilac. Incense used at Beltane includes frankincense, lilac and rose. Stones appropriate for Beltane are emerald, green aventurine, sapphire, rose quartz, and carnelian.

Take a walk outside, open your mind to the beauty of the season. Celebrate the season and the moment. May you all have a wonderful and blessed Beltane. Brightest blessings to all.

No, Mercury is not retrograde-but get ready for another Eclipse.

On Wednesday, June 15th, I posted a blog titled: Here comes June. Here is the conclusion to that first blog post.

In a previous blog, I touched on a partial solar eclipse that occurred on June 1 in Gemini. Since this was a partial eclipse, it was of less impact. It essentially operated as a second 'New Moon', giving us the opportunity to reflect and plan for what was to come.

On June 15, a total lunar eclipse occurred in Sagittarius. This was powerful lunar eclipse, the longest in a decade, lasting nearly two hours. This eclipse gave us an opportunity to examine things in our life, personally or professionally, that were just continually 'not working'. It was a time for us to determine those things that we needed to take action on....to rid ourselves of situations or people that are holding us back, to get rid of physical and emotional clutter, and to finally complete projects that we have been putting off. Since it takes a few weeks for powerful energy like this to dissipate, expect major decisions and actions to continue to crop up over the next few weeks. Don't put them off....handle them decisively and intelligently, using the continuing energy of the eclipse to cross them off your list for good!

The last solar eclipse will occur this Friday on July 1 in Cancer. This eclipse signifies new beginnings, and will be a good time to take on greater responsibilities and challenge ourselves to greater spiritual growth. Doors will close on things that are simply not working, and this will move you towards something far better. This solar eclipse, combined with the Grand Cross being formed by four planets (Saturn, Pluto, Uranus and Mercury) will make this a time of stress, but also a time of personal change and growth that will give new insights and information for the future. This eclipse is also combined with a New Moon, which is excellent for spellwork for growth and change. Friday will be a very powerful time for candle magic to remove bad vibes, banishment, finishing projects, and new beginnings. It is also a perfect time to do a good smudging to clear out negative energy to make way for the positive.

Today, and over the next few days while the lunar eclipse and new moon energy are at their strongest, try some of the following things:

Clear all the clutter, dust, old mail, or anything else blocking the area around the front entrance of your home. This opens up the 'opportunity' area for new positive energy. (If you own a business, make sure the driveway, front door, steps or other areas are clean and free of debris and that there is nothing blocking the path from the road (or driveway) to you. This includes limbs, trash bins, boxes, or anything else that makes the energy move around it.

Create a 'spirit hearth', similar to an altar, with items representing what you desire. If it is wealth, use silver and gold coins, a money frog or cat bank, green stones or silver, gold and green candles. For travel, use brochures or photos of the place you want to go. For better relations with family or friends, use happy photos of them.

The spiritual importance of Lent

During my exploring upon the net, here I came across a wonderful article by By Father William Ventura

GateHouse News Service which was posted on WickedLocal.com. Enjoy - the article is below.

Christians the world over are moving through Lent towards Easter, the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. There is an inclination inherent in many Christians to rush past the penance of Lent into the joy of Easter. Resurrection, spring, flowers and new life tend to be more attractive than penance, fasting, crosses and tombs. It’s not that we shouldn’t hurry towards Easter, but that doesn’t necessitate rushing through Lent. The desire to rush through Lent must be fought against.

Pope John Paul II often said that we are an Easter people; this concept and turn of phrase has gained a common parlance across many Christian groups. Easter, however, makes no sense and has no significance without Lent. The Pope knew this, but sometimes we forget. Without the cross and tomb, any focus on the resurrection and empty tomb are just that: empty. We can’t celebrate God’s victory over death if we don’t spend time contemplating the means by which that victory was won. This does not mean that we revel in the suffering of Jesus’ passion, but instead we marvel at the love that makes such suffering, such sacrifice bearable. We gaze with rapt attention at the crucified Christ knowing full well that it was our sins, our personal sins, that put Him there, yet He hangs there in perfect love for us nonetheless. If the goal of the Christian life is transformation in Christ, we need to stay in Lent, focused on His passion, to see how we are to be transformed in Him.

At the heart of the Passion is the crucifixion. At the heart of the crucifixion is the death of Jesus. His life, however, was not taken from Him, it was offered by Him to the Father with the words, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” (Luke 23:46) We cannot abandon ourselves over to the Father, handing to Him our spirit, as did Jesus, if we have already handed over our spirit to the world and its temptations and empty promises. This is the key to Lent, to the fasting and penances and spiritual exercises: by fasting and penances, we cut the ties that bind us to the things of this world, both good and bad, in order to prepare for the better things, the perfect things only offered by God. By changing our focus and adjusting our gaze, by emptying ourselves of all that this world gives, we open ourselves to the transforming grace with which God wishes to fill us. One example of this would be abstinence from meat on Fridays. By saying no to something good, to something like meat, which we enjoy, we grow in the virtue of temperance. In other words, if we build the habit of indulging and feeding our every whim and appetite, even with things that might be good, our instinct, our habit becomes to simply say yes to our appetites without a second thought, even when our appetites desire something that is not good. By fasting we learn to put things in right order, not allowing ourselves to be distracted by even the good things of this world to the neglect of the better things of the life to come.

In Lent, we remember when Jesus went into the desert to fast and pray. Through Lent, we go with Him, and learn that even in the desert, where there is nothing, we still have God and He alone suffices. By quieting the desires of the body we are better able to pay attention to the one desire of the soul, which is union with God. We come to see how little our body needs compared with how much our soul needs. In the fourth century, Saint Augustine taught that our hearts are restless until they rest in God. Lent makes us aware of the absolute truth that all we need is God. Through life and death and into life again, God is the only constant. He is more than we could ever want or imagine, and the fulfillment of our every desire in ways we will never fully understand in this life.

If we are to be like Christ, transformed in Him, then we must do as He did, and carry our cross as He carried His. For us this means we must take up the crosses of everyday life, bearing with patience all the difficulties and struggles that may come, and love in spite of them, fixing our eyes always on the perfect love of God. This takes a lifetime, of which Lent is our yearly reminder, and we can’t rush it. Only by sharing in the love of the Cross can we merit the joy of our own promised resurrection, on the last day of this world, when Christ will come again in glory and invite us to the Father’s house. By detaching ourselves from the things of this life, and desiring only the things of the life to come, we prepare to accept that invitation for which we are made: to enter into and share God’s glory in Heaven.

Happy Litha to all.

The Summer Solstice Sabbat is here and many will be celebrating. This sabbat is also known as Alban, Hefin, Litha and Midsummer. A few traditional foods to be consumed on this celebration would be fresh veggies, fruits, ale/mead. Alters and tables would be decorated with herbs like chamomile, elder, fennel, larkspur, lavender, fern, mugwort, pine, rose, thyme, wisteria, verbena (just to name a few) and there would be seashells, fruits, flowers and love amulets included. Gemstones are a wonderful touch - green ones like emerald and jade and deities for this sabbat include Aphrodite, Ishtar, Venus, Freya, Astarte, Hathor just to name a few. Most of the deities for this sabbat preside over passion, love and beauty. Popular candle colors to use would be yellow, green and blue.

The rule is harming none and respecting all living things - including their free will.

A few days to keep in mind:
June 30 - good day to celebrate Aestas (the Roman corn goddess of summer).
June 18 - Anna (Roman goddess)
July - whole month - Athena the Greek goddess.
July 7 - Caprotina (goddess of the fig tree)
June 20 - Cerridwen (Celtic goddess of fertility)
June 30 - Chicomecoatl (Aztec)
July 18 - Copper Woman (Native American)
July 12 - Dikaiosune (Pagan God presiding over justice)
July 9 - Dionysus (Greek God of wine)
June 17 - Eurydice (Greek nymph/underworld goddess)
June 24 - Fortuna (Roman goddess of good fortune)
July 1 - Fuji (Japanese goddess of fire)
July 25 - Furrina (Italian goddess of springs)
July 30 - Gloosca (Mimac Indian tribes father god)
June 27 - God of the summer sun (Native American Plains tribe)
June 23 - The Green Man - (Pagan fertility God)
June 28 - Hemera (Greek goddes of day)
June 19 - Herra (AKA the consort of Zeus)
July 14 - Horus (Egyptian sky god)
Month of June - Juno
July 26 - Kachinas (Native American Hopi tribe)
July 11 - Kronos (Father Time)
June 21 - Kupala (Russian fertility goddess)

These are only touched on - many gods/goddesses/deities have a day or month that they preside over or govern. I didn't have much time to remember and write down all of them, but this gives you a basic idea. May everyone have a blessed Litha. Blessed be to all.

Happy Qing Ming to those who celebrate it.

Here is an article written by Stanley Koh in observence of Quin Ming.

TODAY, April 5, is Qing Ming, or All Souls' Day. To Hokkien speakers, it is Cheng Beng. Practising Taoists and Buddhists look forward to it, and Chinese Malaysians mark it by visiting the graves of their ancestors, clearing weeds, touching gravestone inscriptions and offering a variety of food, wine and tea at the grave sites.

It can be celebrated as an elaborate family affair, for Qing Ming also signifies a reunion with ancestors, and some clan associations hold special temple events to commemorate it and honour relatives who have passed on, including their distant ancestors buried in China.
Its history stretches back more than 2,500 years into the time of early Chinese civilisation. Legend has it that the festival originated on Hanshi Day (literally, Cold Food Day), a memorial day for Jie Zitui, one of the many followers of Duke Wen of Jin. He had fed the Duke with his own flesh when the latter was starving from hunger while in exile.

It is said that when Duke Wen came into power again, he searched for Jie and set a forest on fire to force his former servant to come out. However, both Jie and his mother were burnt to death in the fire. After that tragedy, it was decreed that on its anniversary, all peasants were not allowed to heat their food with fire. Hence, the day has been called the “Cold Food Festival”. In another version, the Qing Ming festival was started by the Tang Emperor Xuan Zong in 732. It is said that that the wealthy of the time were so lavish in their spending on ancestor- worship ceremonies that the emperor had to formally declare that they be carried out only on Qing Ming day, on the 104th day after the winter solstice or the 15th day from the Spring Equinox, usually around April 5 of the Gregorian calendar.

Indeed, the Qing Ming festival has many names and meanings. It is also referred to as clear (qing) and bright (ming), or simply as Ancestors’ Day or Tomb Sweeping Day.

New doorsteps

Will this cultural practice ever fade away? Unlikely, even with cremation becoming more widespread. Families whose ancestors were cremated instead of buried replace the cemetery visits with visits to the columbarium. Paying respect to ancestors is a very Confucian practice and inseparable from filial piety. The Chinese race, steeped in folklore, traditional values and superstitions, is unlikely to abandon any cultural practice relating to departed spirits. The very thought of neglected ancestors being angry and harbouring ill-will puts fear into the Chinese mind, which places great importance on health and wealth.

In paying respect to their ancestors, most would seek blessings from their departed souls to ensure more wealth, better career positions and status and good health, usually in that order of priority. Periphery to this traditional practice and the significance of its culturally rooted values, more and more Chinese are beginning to open new doorways to their mindsets to ponder on the riddle of death and reincarnation.

In Chinese mythology, many references are to the galaxy of stars, depicting them as gods and deities. Are these gods and deities an evolutionary process of the human stage progressing onto higher planes or dimensions of spirituality?

Sentimental journey

Surely a great shift in human consciousness, regardless of race, will happen when science discovers the secret of death and reincarnation. If death and reincarnation are one—or opposite sides of the coin of phenomenon—what would be the significance of Qing Ming, since the departed ones are on course to new dimensions and, if reincarnated, will gain new personalities on earth? Should we, as the descendants, continue to depend psychologically on our ancestors for blessings of material wealth and physical wellbeing or should we depend on ourselves as individual spirits in the cultivation of spiritual values?

In the Pleiadian Mission (available on YouTube), a Swiss farmer was supposed to have contacted human forms that are far more spiritually evolved than us (called the Plejerans) from the Orion galaxy of the Pleiades cluster of stars, 500 million light years away. It is an unveiling of the mysteries of life and death. We are advised that ancestor worship will not help us to evolve if we are overtly dependent on our ancestors’ blessings. It is a sentimental journey and an expression of gratitude, nothing more and nothing less. Our ancestors, like us, are on the path of a human evolution. Each of us is embarking on a spiritual journey for which we must take the first step. We cannot piggyback on their backs and nor can our children piggyback on us in a spiritual journey to higher dimensions of existence, a journey that will take some 60 to 80 billion years in our human evolution.

Many of our ancestors could have reincarnated and gone on to new worlds of existence in the natural order of human evolution. “Rebirth (reincarnation) is not merely a speculative, philosophical theory. It is a fact and can be proven through logic,” the Plejerans told Billy Meier in an UFO contact in a Switzerland mountaintop homestead as early as 1975. “All human beings will repeatedly incarnate on earth (regardless of whether one willingly acknowledges this or not), and in their rebirth they will re-enter the precise world they helped shape in the past. “And it matters little whether their assistance in shaping the world was active or passive, destructive or constructive.”

The Plejerans, highly spiritually evolved humans, who first contacted Billy Meier, are from the Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters in ancient Chinese astrology dating back to 2,300 BC. This star cluster, consisting of more than 400 mostly faint stars along with 6 to 15 brighter stars in the southern hemisphere, can be seen well with the naked eye when viewing conditions are right.

March 13, 2010

A friend of mine, named Tana, wrote me an email a few weeks ago telling me of his adventure with Marticual. He explained he was walking down the street, when he saw the most beautiful angel sitting on a bench in a secluded park. She signaled him over to her, and so he went over and greeted her. He said he knew she was an angel because of her wings, but yet he never saw this particular angel before. So he sat beside her on the bench and she told him that she was going to bring a special healing energy to everyone. He explained how he cried right there, just started crying like a baby and how her energy was so amazing. She proceeded to tell him that there is going to be a special energetic vibration that is going to happen on March 13th. She told him to share this date with (what she referred to) as his “circle of light seekers.” Lucky me, I am one of them! And I am going to share this special message with you.

He told me her name is Marticual, and that she is from the 7th vibrational realm. This is a very high energy realm, one that is the closest to God. What she wants everyone to do is sit in silence for 10 minutes on the 13th, and imagine the goodness they would like to have more of in their lives, and that it will be granted. The energy will be strongest from 1:00 PM until 4 PM, PST. After 4 PM, the energy will continue to weaken, and by 10:00 PM PST, it will be totally gone. What you should do is focus on a desire. The more clear you are on what you desire, the better the results. So she suggested making a detailed and specific list of ONE THING that you desire, and focus only on that one thing.

Sit upright and place your list in your lap. Sit with you ankles crossed, left over the right, and with your hands in your lap, palms up, and resting on each knee. Repeat the following words: Marticaul, I humbly request that you surround me at this moment, and help to raise my consciousness to the highest level of manifestation energy. Please help me to create the goodness that I desire. Then, look at your list, as you allow yourself to daydream and imagine, the things you desire happening in your life, exactly as you desire it. The longer you can sit and do this, the more powerful the effect. Do this no shorter than 10 minutes, and no longer than 1 hour. The better you can visualize and daydream, the stronger the effect. When you are finished, repeat these words: Marticaul, thank you for your help, and I humbly ask that you bless all those who are dear to me.” Now imagine in your mind all the people who you would like to send a blessing to. Then you can say: Thank you Marticaul for your help and for the blessings you have bestowed upon my loved ones. You should get up slowly (and respectfully), maintaining silence for 10 more minutes. In other words, do not talk to anyone for at least 10 minutes after you are finished, just bask in the glow and absorb it all in before proceeding through out your day. Tana is very gifted in many ways and I so appreciate him including me in his wonderful insight and giving me a 'heads up.'

I hope you will use this highly spiritual information, and please share this information with anyone you meet or know. From what I understand, it is going to be a very powerful day full of blessings! This is your opportunity to help me share this blessing with the people you know. Please forward this info to everyone and anyone you know. Marticaul told Tana that those people who share this message with others, will be blessed 10-fold for it!

Please feel free to email me about your experience on this very special day. I'd love to share in your joy.
Brightest blessings to all.
