Some fascinating reads about cultures and folklore

I have stumbled across some really interesting reads. There is a new show that comes on the History channel called the Vikings. I wanted to delve a bit into that time period. As I was doing so, I come across the below articles:

Something to think about.

A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package. "What food might this contain?" The mouse wondered. He was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.

Retreating to the farmyard, The mouse proclaimed this warning: "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, "Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it." The mouse turned to the pig and told him, "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The pig sympathized, but said, "I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured you are in my prayers." The mouse turned to the cow and said,"There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The cow said, "Wow, Mr. Mouse I'm sorry for you, but it's no skin off my nose." So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mousetrap. ....Alone....

That very night a sound was heard throughout the house the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey. The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see it. It was a venomous snake whose tail was caught in the trap. The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital. When she returned home she still had a fever. Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup. So the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient, chicken.

But his wife's sickness continued. Friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig. But, alas, the farmer's wife did not get well...She died. So many people came for her funeral that the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them for the funeral luncheon.

And the mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness. So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and you think it doesn't concern you, remember --- When one of us is threatened, we are all at risk. We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one another.

EACH OF US IS A VITAL THREAD IN ANOTHER PERSON'S TAPESTRY. OUR LIVES ARE WOVEN TOGETHER FOR A REASON. One of the best things to hold onto in this world is a FRIEND. Blessed be and Amen!

One Choice

We all only have one life to live. Although, it is possible to live many lifetimes in this one life. Have you ever looked back on your life and thought, wow, that seems like a lifetime ago....? It could be about anything, a job that you started out with, a circumstance in high school, a career path, a love that faded.....

What will it take or what do you need in order to make a change in your life. If you are not happy at this present moment in time on where you are and what you see for yourself, what change is it that you seek or desire? All it takes is one choice, one decision and you can change your life. You and you alone are in charge of your life and it's choices. You alone, create your own future. The past is just that....the past. So don't you think it's time to put it behind you? Now it is time to be open to the possibilities of the future.

Please take three simple minutes and check out this video. You may find the strength and inspiration that you are deserving and desiring. Love and light to all.

Life's Lessons

Here is a wonderful short movie/video about life and the lessons we learn while living here. One of the most important things that people seem to forget is honesty. Learn to speak the truth....at all times. Lies are like boomerangs, they will eventually come back to you. Lies are sticky, like a spiders web that you weave....you will get tangled up in it.

Possessions do not determine your wealth. You must remember that you come into this world with nothing and you will leave it with nothing.

If you get a chance, take a quick peek at the video. It's a nice reminder. Click the link below to view:

The Power of Attitude.

Here is a great short video to check out. It shows how potent and powerful your attitude is and can be. A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer....it sings because it has a song.

Mercury goes Retrograde

Planet Mercury goes retrograde on 3/30/11. So what does this mean? Well, a little history is that ages ago, Mercury was in charge of carrying messages between the gods and goddesses, as well as between humanity (mortals) and the gods. In today's world, Mercury rules computers, phones, internet, correspondence - basically communication. You can see Mercury's influence on how you express yourself - by speech, texts, letters or handwriting. You can also feel the influence by the way you collect data. I, personally, never fail to cringe when I know Mercury is heading into a Retrograde....it means an increase in lost packages, communication failures such as lost emails and missing orders, and misunderstandings with family, friends, and customers. The effects of Mercury Retrograde can be maddening!

Retrograde means that it appears that the planet is moving backward. The good news is Mercury is only retrograde until the 23rd (just three weeks and three days). So what does this mean? What happens when Mercury retrogrades? Pretty much it means to expect the unexpected. Appointments get missed, computers crash, you find the car you just purchased, during Mercury retrograde, is a lemon. The repair shop that had your car for a month sends it back still broken, There will be countless delays, cancellations and postponements. Don't fight them, although your frustration level and feeling of restlessness will be hard to cope with at times. This is a time where electronic devices may not work properly, may break, or may malfunction. (Cell phones, cars, machines, appliances, computers, etc). Letters, bills, notes, any communication with people may seem strained, delayed or misinterpreted. People may be in tense moods and you may find yourself desiring or wanting more solitude. You may experience problems or delays in travel/trips as well as with meetings and appointments. This is a time where communication and schedules can be compromised. This is not really a good time to sign contracts or make big purchases such as a car or appliance, hence things tend to break down or not function properly. Mercury is the ruling planet for industries such as sales, writing, marketing, public relations, postal and delivery services, and any transportation industry. Mercury also rules the zodiac signs of Gemini and Virgo. If you are a Virgo who works for the complaint department of the phone company, go ahead and take that vacation! Just don't travel anywhere - your luggage is likely to get lost. People from your past may even tend to resurface and memories or past regrets may come from out of nowhere to haunt you. During Mercury retrograde, it's not uncommon that you are likely to bump into old friends that you haven't seen in years. Adopted children tend to find their birth parents during Mercury retrograde periods, or people locate their long lost siblings. Prosecutors often find clues to crimes that had previously remained unsolved for years. Mail that went astray weeks or even years ago shows up during Mercury retrograde.

If it is so troublesome, why then, would the Universe give us Mercury retrograde? Have you ever heard the expression - Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it? The basic principle of Mercury Retrograde is that Mercury has turned around to show us something, we have missed. Sometimes, in order to move forward, it is necessary to backtrack, examine our mistakes, and change our path for the future. It is important for us to reconsider, repair, reflect, and reconnect. Mercury forces us to slow down and fix what's broken, and in doing so, realize what mistakes we have made. It also gives us the opportunity to complete all the old projects we have placed on the back burner, therefore clearing the way for new opportunities.

Mercury Retrogrades also tends to cause things to repeat. Avoid having surgery, getting dental work done, or signing divorce papers and contracts during Mercury Retrograde. If you do, you might find yourself doing that same painful thing over again! On the other hand, doing things that are good for you, fun, or affect your life, in a positive way, are excellent activities for Mercury Retrograde. Focus on eating healthy, exercising regularly, and learning a new skill in this period. Go to a movie, go dancing, or do something else that you would like to repeat again! Not only will you feel better, but the on next Mercury Retrograde you will feel compelled to return to that healthy and enjoyable living.

What to do during this time: Think about your past and how you feel about your current circumstances. Consider if you are happy in your current situation? If not, think of ways to change it. This is a time to rethink, reflect, research, revise, reschedule, redecorate and renew. (Keep the 'RE' in mind for the next few weeks). In regards to relationships and partnership matters, our thinking is turned inward. Re-evaluating a partnership and communication style within that relationship is wonderful use of this reflection period.

What not to do during this time: Not a good time for big purchases such as a home, car or electronics. These types of things/items will generally encounter major problems. Don't sign important contracts or paperwork. Try not to get upset over set backs. Expect them so when they happen, you're prepared. Keep cell phone charged, keep a can of fix a flat in the trunk, etc.

**Again, if you plan any travels, try to allow for extra time for any problems which might arise. Also, keep your electronic equipment tuned up and working well, and try and take it easy on your nervous system. The nervous system can be on over-drive during the mercury retrograde. So try and allow extra time for sleep and relaxation. So why not allow yourself to take some time off from tasks and do some favorite activity you haven’t done in a while.

Mercury retrograde is also a great time to get things done you may have been putting off, like cleaning or organizing and recycling old stuff you no longer need. It’s a time to finish tasks that were started and never went to completion, but it’s usually not a good time for starting new tasks. Brainstorming is easier to do at this time, but generally, things will have an easier time of getting started if you wait until Mercury goes direct on the 23rd of April - the day before Easter.

Brightest blessings for the fun ride! Mercury will go direct on 4/23/11.

The Seed

A successful business man was growing old and knew it was time to choose a successor to take over the business. Instead of choosing one of his Directors or his children, he decided to do something different. He called all the young executives in his company together. He said, "It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO. I have decided to choose one of you." The young executives were Shocked, but the boss continued. "I am going to give each one of you a SEED today - one very special SEED. I want you to plant the seed, water it, and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from the seed I have given you. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next CEO."

One man, named Jim, was there that day and he, like the others, received a seed. He went home and excitedly, told his wife the story. She helped him get a pot, soil and compost and he planted the seed. Everyday, he would water it and watch to see if it had grown. After about three weeks, some of the other executives began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow.

Jim kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew. Three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by, still
nothing. By now, others were talking about their plants, but Jim didn't have a plant and he felt like a failure.

Six months went by -- still nothing in Jim's pot. He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing. Jim didn't say anything to his colleagues, however, he just kept watering and fertilizing the soil - He so wanted the seed to grow.

A year finally went by and all the young executives of the company brought their plants to the CEO for inspection. Jim told his wife that he wasn't going to take an empty pot. But she asked him to be honest about what happened. Jim felt sick to his stomach, it was going to be the most embarrassing moment of his life, but he knew his wife was right. He took his empty pot to the board room. When Jim arrived, he was amazed at
the variety of plants grown by the other executives. They were beautiful -- in all shapes and sizes. Jim put his empty pot on the floor and many of his colleagues laughed, a few felt sorry for him!

When the CEO arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted his youngexecutives. Jim just tried to hide in the back. "My, what great plants, trees and flowers you have grown," said the CEO. "Today one of you will be appointed the next CEO!" All of a sudden, the CEO spotted Jim at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered the Financial Director to bring him to the front. Jim was terrified. He thought, "The CEO knows I'm a failure! Maybe he will have me fired!" When Jim got to the front, the CEO asked him what had happened to his seed - Jim told him the story.

The CEO asked everyone to sit down except Jim. He looked at Jim, and then announced to the young executives, "Behold your next Chief Executive Officer! His name is Jim!" Jim couldn't believe it. Jim couldn't even grow his seed. "How could he be the new CEO?" the others said.

Then the CEO said, "One year ago today, I gave everyone in this room a seed. I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds; they were dead - it was not possible for them to grow. All of you, except Jim, have brought me trees and plants and flowers. When you found that the seed would not grow, you substituted another seed for the one I gave you. Jim was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one who will be the new Chief Executive Officer!"

* If you plant honesty, you will reap trust
* If you plant goodness, you will reap friends
* If you plant humility, you will reap greatness
* If you plant perseverance, you will reap contentment
* If you plant consideration, you will reap perspective
* If you plant hard work, you will reap success
* If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation

So, be careful what you plant now; it will determine what you will reap later. Think about this for a minute....
If I happened to show up on your door step crying, would you care?

If I called you and asked you to pick me up because something happened, would you come?
If I had one day left to live my life, would you be part of that last day?

If I needed a shoulder to cry on, would you give me yours?

This is a test to see who your real friends are or if you are just someone to talk to you when they are bored.

Do you know what the relationship is between your two eyes?  They blink together, they move together,
they cry together, they see things together, and they sleep together, but they never see each other;
....that's what friendship is.. Your aspiration is your motivation, your motivation is your belief, your belief is your peace, your peace is your target, your target is heaven, and life is like hard core torture without it!

Brightest blessings to all.

Something to think about.

Something To Think About!

Imagine that you had won the following prize in a contest: Each morning your bank would deposit $86,400.00 in your private account for your use. However, this prize has rules, just as any game has certain rules.

The first set of rules would be:

Everything that you didn't spend during each day would be taken away from you. And, no, you may not transfer money into some other account. You may only spend it. Each morning upon awakening, the bank opens your account with another $86,400.00 for that day.

The second set of rules:

The bank can end the game without warning; at any time it can say, Its over, the game is over! It can close the account and you will not receive a new one.

So here's my question to you - What would you personally do? Most people would opt for buying anything and everything they wanted right? Not only for themself, but for all people they love, right? So what about you, what would you do? Would you buy for people you don't know, because you couldn't possibly spend it all on yourself? You would try to spend every cent, and use it all, right?

ACTUALLY This GAME is REALITY! Each of us is in possession of such a magical bank. We just can't seem to see it. The MAGICAL BANK is TIME! Each morning we awaken to receive 86,400 seconds as a gift of life, and when we go to sleep at night, any remaining time is NOT credited to us.
What we haven't lived up that day is forever lost. Yesterday is forever gone.

Each morning the account is refilled, but the bank can dissolve your account at any time....WITHOUT WARNING. SO, what will YOU do with your 86,400 seconds?

Those seconds are worth so much more than the same amount in dollars. Think about that, and always think of this: Enjoy every second of your life, because time races by so much quicker than you think. So take care of yourself, be Happy, Love Deeply and enjoy life!

Here's wishing ya'll a wonderfully beautiful day.
Start spending.

2011

Can you feel the "stirring" deep inside your soul? If you don't...close your eyes and concentrate. The feeling is hope, and you're feeling it because a new year is upon us. With a new year, hopes are high and anything is possible.

It's also time to leave any troubles in your past behind you... and take hold of all that is good in your life -- and bring it with you into the new year. The wheel of the year begins anew, and if you listen to the Magick inside you... and use it properly, 2011 can be the beginning of the best years of your life.A new year is always a time of reflection....a time to think about what we want to improve about ourselves and our life going forward. It is a time to 'clean the slate'....a time to break bad habits, rethink goals, and renew faith. Even those who don't practice magic look at the turning of one year to the next as a special, mysterious time. It is almost as if anything is possible! Keep this feeling and hold on to it every single day of the year. It’s a precious feeling, and every day that you open your eyes, consider it a present - a gift. You are receiving another day and you are still breathing, still here to help others, still here to make someone smile, still here to share your gifts that you were blessed with. Hold on to hope and don’t be afraid to dream big. If something doesn’t work, then think of ways to overcome the problem that occurred and revise. Eventually, you’ll turn it into a success. There is no such thing as failure - just stepping stones and adjustments - which bring you closer to the goal. Life is one big learning process.

My gift to you is this blog. This is where I can share idea’s and thoughts with you, some you will relate to and others you won’t, but all in all, it will help to stimulate your thought process. It’s a sacred journey that we take together. We can smile together, get motivated together, share idea’s, experience situations and platforms, learn and grow to broaden ourselves. It’s a place where you can go to remember you are not alone and that others come here for the very same reason that you do.

I thank you for coming here. I thank you for allowing me to enter your life and be a part of it. Even though we may not personally know each other, I thank you for the gift of your friendship. It enriches me and I feel blessed because of it. My wish is for everyone to have a healthy, safe and happy life. Happiness lies within. You have the key to make your own happiness. Little steps can have a huge impact on the quality of life. Are you ready and willing to make this the best year yet? Let’s make 2011 our best year so far. Life is precious so let’s jump in with both feet, make the best and most of it. It’s time to live.

I have learned much over the past couple of years and I am sharing just a few of the things that have meaning to me and that I now incorporate into my daily routine. At first, it didn't come easy but now it's just second nature to me since I have been working on these lessons everyday now for years. They are simple and all you need to do is start. Pick one thing and start to apply it in your life. Don't worry about the list, start with one lesson and take little steps. See what a difference it will make in your life. See the difference in how you feel compared to this time last year once you start applying just one new lesson. It's made a difference in my life.

Lessons learned and rules to live by:

1. Do unto others as you would have done unto you.
2. People hardest to love are the ones that need it most.
3. There are no ordinary moments.
4. There is never nothing going on.
5. Death is not sad. What is sad is that most people don't live at all.
6. Nothing stays the same.
7. The awareness of spirit (not body) is the altar of truth.
8. It is the privilege of the forgiven to forgive.
9. The spirit's strength leaves no room for intrusions.
10. You are capable of creating in the likeness of your Creator.
11. Miracles are everyone's right but purification is necessary first.
12. Prayer is a medium - a means of communication from the 'created' to the Creator.
13. Embrace what sets you apart from others (uniqueness).
14. Everyday is a new beginning which is why its called the 'present.'
15. Live your life in such a way that when your feet hit the floor in the morning, Satan/Hades shudders and says..."Oh no, she's awake!"
16. Reading to the mind is what exercise is to the body.
17. Make yourself so happy that when others look at you, they become happy too.
18. Your word is your greatest power and honor.
19. All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered. The point is to discover them.
20. WORK: Worship, Order, Reconciliation, Knowledge
21. I was created, therefore I exist, therefore I am what I am.
22. Everyone, at one time or another, must face the decision whether to cross the bridge or to burn the bridge.
23. Our minds are like computers. There are times where we must reprogram ourselves.
24. Sometimes we have to sit with the past before we can leave it behind and move on.
25. There is an advantage in every disadvantage and a gift in every problem. Happiness is not a when or a where; it can be a here and a now. But until you are happy with who you are you will never be happy because of what you have.
26. What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.
27. Your success depends mainly upon what you think of yourself and whether you believe in yourself. You can succeed if nobody else believes it, but you will never succeed if you don’t believe in yourself.
28. Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.
29. Perceptual blindness sheds much light on why we miss obvious solutions. By focusing on one thing (a problem), we miss something else (a solution).
30. Service is the rent we pay to be living. It is the very purpose of life and not something you do in your spare time.
31. You alone, have the power to break the chains that bind you. Seek within and you will find the solution.
32. Focus on the doughnut, not on the hole.
33. If He leads you to it, He will lead you through it.
34. Life's challenges are not supposed to paralyze you-they're supposed to help you discover who you are.
35. If God answers your prayers, He is increasing your faith. If He doesn't, He is training your patience.
36. PUSH - pray until something happens.

Love, light and blessings to all!

Some great quotes....by great leaders.

Ah, I don't know about you, but I am ready to say good bye to 2010 and hello to 2011. This has been a pretty good year for me, it has been tough - don't get me wrong, it has been tough, but I've had many eye openers and have really broadened myself and learned alot. I have met some great teachers, read some amazing books and helped many thru my line of work. I did quite a lot of traveling this year, met all types of people from a variety of backgrounds, experienced new opportunities and sampled different types of foods.

Yet as the year comes to it's closing, I decided to dig a bit and found this video. I have high hopes for 2011 and by viewing this video, I received inspiration and excitement. There are real truths to these words and I have really reached a turning point this year. I continue to apply the lessons I have learned and I accept that every day that I open my eyes in the morning, it's a present. I am free to renew and revise. What didn't work yesterday, can be revised and tried out again today. It's a learning process. I still have energy, I still have breath, therefore, I can still create, still dream and think. So, too, can you.

Enjoy the video and let me know what you think.

Are you ready to turn a new leaf over? To invest in yourself?

Hey all, Happy Holidays. Yep, for those inquiring minds who want to know, I am working. This is a good time to see what is coming, what you need to leave behind, what to work on, how your fears are stopping you and standing in your way. Reach for the stars, keep your dream alive. Ready to see what your path is leading you to? Hit me up. You can reach me here, on fb, myspace, craigslist, by twitter or click the link: http://readingsfromtherealm.vpweb.com/

I'm ready. Are you? Love, light and blessings. Namaste!

Remember, the experiences you draw to you thru the doorway of your soul, stay open, as long as you do. Be sure to get on with life. Stop looking at how it used to be or how it should be. It's time to let it be. With the new year around the corner, take stock of your goals and where you see yourself next. Rewrite your story.

Thought day the day: Worry about your character, not your reputation. Your character is who you are. Your reputation is who people think you are. Be comfortable in your own skin and embrace the day.

Is it time to detox?

Is it time to detox?

We hear so much about that these days. There are ads in magazines, tv commercials, info-commercials. Lots of different ways are available to cleanse the body of impurities, chemicals, pesticides and antibiotics in food and water which lead to forms of bacteria that can build up in our bodies. After all, look around you. People have more health problems, children have allegies and acid reflux at such early ages, people are experiencing thin hair and hair loss. All of this can be traced back to our food intake and what is lurking within it.

But what about detoxing for our minds? People go around with minds full of bad thoughts and the wrong thoughts. Example, so and so hurt me, how I can’t do this or that, work sucks or I’m out of work completely and can’t find a job. Well, listen to that. Those are toxic and poisonous thoughts. It affects our minds, body and spirit. It affects and contaminates our perspective, outlook and self image. I am sure we have all met people who are bitter, negative and always expect the worse to happen. They can be cynical and criticize everything. Think to how you feel being around someone with those so called ‘qualities’ or characteristics. Do you feel dread? A sense of hopelessness? These are the ones that need a mental/spiritual cleansing. Now, you may be wondering, how do you detoxify your mind and spirit? Well, first you must decide to starve the mind of the impurities of dwelling on situations. You must decide to let them go. Okay, it happened, dwelling on it won’t make it go away any faster or come to pass quicker. By dwelling on negativity, you keep it alive and around you. In other words, you are feeding it and giving it new life and so it tends to stick around. Example, don’t dwell on what you don’t have, look at what you do have. Don’t dwell on the illness, loss of work, what mistakes have been made. Your best days are still ahead of you. They are in front of you. You’ve heard the saying, the best is yet to come. Well, detox your mind and it will be. Strength and victory can be yours. Keeps thoughts of faith, hope and be determined to be a valor and have victory. It takes as much energy to think positive as it does to think negative.

Now, once people have detoxified their bodies of the chemicals and pesticides that have occurred as a result of their diets over the years, they tend to see improvement in some areas and even feel better - more energized, more creative, more healthier. Well, by detoxing your mind of these negative thoughts, you can put yourself on a spiritual diet to obtain victory and joy. Don’t you think its time to bring that back into your life? Lets get back the confidence. Instead of saying I can’t do this, why not turn it around and think, how can I make this possible and have it happen. Let go of disappointments and hurts, learn from them, then turn it around. It is possible and you hold the key. Do you have faith? Do you believe in God? Well, if He leads you to it, he’ll lead you through it. God loves you and wants you to overcome. He wants you to be happy, enjoy the day you’ve been given. If someone tries to dampen your spirit, think to yourself, who do they think they are? I refuse to let them rain on my parade. This day is a gift and I’ve decided to be happy and face things with strength. Smile at the person and walk away. Leave the misery behind you. Don’t give in to why can’t you be like your brother or sister. Why can’t you be smarter in school. How can you not grasp or understand my concern? Or what about this one, you know you’ll never amount to nothing, you’ll never succeed, etc. You are who you are. You are unique and different from everyone else. People haven’t been cloned to be alike in every aspect. You are who God wants you to be. All things are possible with faith. What matters is what God thinks of us. That is precisely how I made it through some of my younger years. I was different and considered strange because of my ‘gifts’ that I was given. People didn’t understand and some may have even been scared. At first, it bugged me immensely. Then I got over it. I don’t care what they think or say. What matters is how I feel and think and what God thinks. He thought me worthy which is why he made me different than them. Or it could be I’m more sensitive to things than they were. It helped me to think differently and by thinking God doesn’t think of me as a freak or as scary, then I didn’t let those thoughts penetrate my mind anymore.

Try detoxing the mind. It might just do you better then you can imagine. Brightest blessings!

The Voyage - by Paul 'Wildcat' Sutherland.

The voyage of life ...Where are we? Where are we going? Do you ever take the time to stop and think? Do you ever slow down and go within to find the answers you are looking for? You are the creator of your destiny ...

The Voyage ... by Paul "Wildcat" Sutherland

As you journey through your life, do you ever pause for thought? Have you ever taken time to sense how much you’ve learned or taught? Most humans just don’t think at all beyond their basic needs or what the consequences are. Of all their acts and deeds, the voyage can be long and hard, though easy for a few. But how the trip turns out my friend, is really up to you. For only you can choose the way. Your vessel will set sail. Just listen closley to your heart and you will never fail. Deep within your heart and soul a light shines bright and true. Like an eternal flame of love, it’s always there with you. So take some time to meditate
and give yourself respect. Go inside, be with your source. You’ll see how you connect. Give yourself the priceless gift of faith, of love and light. For divinity within in you will always steer you right. You never have to walk alone or find you’re lost at sea. You smooth the voyage for your soul when you pause, slow down and be.

(I thought this was a very profound message, worth posting and considering. Brightest blessings).

New Moon in Libra-food for thought.

Autumn Equinox Moon: Dreaming with All My Relations

New Moon in Libra: Oct 7 - Nov 4 2010

Did you experience enough changes during the Virgo Moon cycle in the past 28 days? Was it very cleansing, creative and moving? We are now finishing this moon and hopefully you paid attention to your intention for a few weeks...

This is the great moon of relationship, marriages, business partnerships, all types of committed partnerships and the cultural laws of right relationship. Autumn new moons begin a time of re-balance, because as we head towards the winter moons, we begin to slow down.

Venus rules this moon cycle and this month we have a lot of Libra energy and planets upon us. When working with moon medicine, its always the opposite so we play out our moon in a more independent Aries archetype. Aries is the independent eternal child, as all fire signs are in order to constantly create. Aries rules the self within relationship and what the self needs for passion. Venus is all about needs and comfort, beauty and harmony in relationships, so the opposite meets and we meet the opposite in this moon

... the celestial line-up in Libra this Moon Cycle is:
Sun (me in the world)
Moon (me within my inner world)
Saturn (me and my responsibilities to my physical world)
Mercury (me and my communication or lack of)
Hygiea (me and my personal health)
Vesta (me and the fire of my feminine)

Roll all these planets into the arena of Relationship and we get one more clue to how we behave, how we express emotion and how we need to compromise or set boundaries or both.

Spring is the opposing energy of Autumn, so rather than jumping forward - we move toward retreat, instead of going all the way and starting something new in relationships of any kind, we pull back and move inward towards a unique relationship with the self. What we planted last spring, has now come to harvest this moon cycle. Sooner or later, this daughter of a modern moon myth, has a much older and wiser sister... Venus is the light closest to the earth that shines the brightest along with her sister Moon and shines forth all of our inner duality - the one with ourself and with others. How we balance this is a matter of awareness without judgement and with great discernment.

Venus shines so bright because Libra rules culture, the arts, the humanities, the expressions of right relationships with beauty, not only its imbalance but the hidden inner beauty wishing to shine forth. This moon cycle we can feel alone or socially over booked, so assess and set your intentions to re-balance where you sit in your world.

We are either at one stage or another in our most important relationships:
1. finding; 2. building; 3. clarifying; 4. maintaining; 5. surrendering; 6. destoying; 7. letting go or 8. alone in in human relationships...

What relationship is most important right now in the last three days? What phase is it in? If you work on relationships with someone in this manner, then you can navigate Venus or mother earths Autumn territory with a little bit more clarity, groundedness and decisive action.

Sample New Moon Intentions this month...
I have appropriate boundaries
I am balanced and grounded
I am supportive of my needs
I am creative expressing my joy
I am beautiful
I adore my life (fake it till you make it)
I am exploring where I am at in my life
I am in the present moment

(This was sent compliments of my friend, Mary. She must have been reading my thoughts-because she saved me from having to write a bit about this moon. I thought I'd share with a few people).
